A fugitive wanted for a slew of crimes in Connecticut, including a fatal shooting in New Haven and two incidents in West Haven in which he allegedly committed a robbery in January and shot at detectives several days later, was taken into custody in Bridgeport on Thursday. Authorities found Omar Nelson, 22, hiding in an attic under some insulation at a residence in the 500 block of East Main Street in Bridgeport, according to the Connecticut U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force. The task force worked with multiple other police departments, including those from Bridgeport, Norwalk and West Haven, in apprehending the fugitive.
